About

Rosie Dore is an illustrator based in the Republic of Ireland and an Illustration and Animation BA (Hons) graduate of Anglia Ruskin University, UK. She is particularly interested in storytelling and character creation, and has a deep fascination for animals and the natural world, taking inspiration from both own personal research into animal species and behaviour as well as real-life encounters to influence her artwork, yet may also apply this inspiration when portraying fantasy or the supernatural.

Outside of her illustration work, she is also Chairperson of local LGBT+ organisation OutWest, and was the artist behind the poster for Sligo Pride's first-ever Rainbow Ball event held during 2022.

Overall she aims to produce work that is emotive, quirky and characterful, and to instill appreciation and wonder for the many creature subjects that populate her work.

More of her work can also be seen on Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr.

Member of the Association of Illustrators and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
